I got into Apple after I graduated from University, and I view my years are a stepping stone for career development. There is nothing wrong any of the scenarios, it really just depends on where you are in your career and life experience. Go nuts! You were probably looking for happiness in life and working for the company you dreamed off will achieve that.

Every store is like a vault from Fallout game series with their own specific problems, people and culture.įinally, lets say you have shaved your hair into an Apple logo on launch days and you have an Apple logo tattooed on your wrist or whatever. The question really is, do you fit with the culture in the specific store you are applying to. Lets say, you been recently laid off and you've been working in computer repairs for a very long time. Thats not going to happen, mainly because the skills you will learn in a retail environment won't translate into a corporate environment. Lets say you are a recent graduate from college, and think if you manage to get into Apple retail you'll be able to go to the mothership someday and work corporate. Lets say for example, you are in college/art school/university and you need something for just extra cash on the weekend. It depends on where you are in your life and your career development. It's also dependant on the individual as none of the Apple stores are unionized to my knowledge. When I was working there, I heard that UK Apple Store employees get paid much less than Canadian Apple Store employees. It really depends where you are in the world and how the wages fluctuate there.
